2 Local Companies Making Acquisitions

Two Pittsburgh companies announced acquisitions Wednesday with a total price tag topping $1 billion, joining the list of other companies putting record piles of cash on their balance sheets to work. Allegheny Technologies said it will acquire Ladish, a metals parts supplier to the aerospace and industrial markets, in a stock and cash deal valued at $778 million.
