The Broward Sheriff’s Office said Friday its homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a deadly shooting in Lauderdale Lakes where the shooter is claiming self-defense. A man, identified Friday as Hureleyon McLean, 71, of Lauderdale Lakes, was killed in a shooting on Thanksgiving Day at an apartment complex in Lauderdale Lakes, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The shooting happened about 3:30 p.m.

Hallandale Beach police Friday identified the husband and wife found dead in their luxury condo. About 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of multiple gunshots in the 1800 block of South Ocean Drive, and when they arrived, they found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
