ATLANTIA — Cam Ward now stands alone in the Hurricanes’ record book.
The Miami star quarterback threw a touchdown pass to Elijah Arroyo in the first quarter of Miami’s road game against Georgia Tech on Saturday. The score was his 30th touchdown pass of the season, passing Steve Walsh to set the program’s single-season touchdown pass record.
Walsh’s record of 29 has stood since 1988.
Ward, who is a Heisman Trophy frontrunner, has excelled all season after transferring from Washington State.
MIAMI GARDENS — The wrist injury that surfaced this week for Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill has his status against the Los Angeles Rams up in the air.
Hill was not spotted during a brief media viewing portion of Saturday’s practice, Miami’s final session before the Monday night game against the Rams (4-4) at SoFi Stadium.
He went through a Thursday practice and was not listed on the injury report at all.
It’s another big game day for the Miami Dolphins and the Shulas, just as it once was always about them on game days, from the grandfather to the sons to the grandsons.
Don Shula’s first grandson, Dan, was born on October 9, 1983. A Sunday. A game day. Dave Shula, then the Dolphins receivers coach, rushed wife Leslie to the hospital early that Miami morning, watched the birth of their son and asked something new dads rarely do a few antsy hours later:
“Is it OK if I go to the game?”
He was congratulated by grandpa in the Orange Bowl locker room, washed the blood from the umbilical cord off his hands and then watched Dan Marino throw for three touchdowns and 322 yards against Buffalo.
It was Marino’s first NFL start.
This would be the worst.
If these allegations are true, they would constitute the worst, the ugliest, the creepiest, the most shocking college sports scandal in state history.
Being a graduate of the University of Florida and the father of a daughter who also graduated from there, I got sick to my stomach when I read the allegations Friday.
In a Title IX complaint obtained by the school’s Independent Florida Alligator newspaper, basketball coach Todd Golden is being accused by multiple women, including past and present UF students, of sexually harassing them, stalking them, cyberstalking them, sexually exploiting them and sending lewd photos of his genitalia to them.

This won’t be the last time you hear that over the next few weeks. Taylor Swift played the final United States show on her ultra-mega-blockbuster Eras tour last weekend in Indiana. After a year and a half of concerts and almost 150 dates (including three sold-out nights at Soldier Field in Chicago), the tour concludes in Vancouver on Dec.
