"Watchmen” geeks know the “heroes” in the comic series and film are loosely based on characters from Charlton Comics, a 1950s-era company that eventually was sold to DC Comics, home of Superman and Batman. None except Dr. Manhattan have any “super-powers” to speak of, but they do have plenty of other issues.
